To cultivate vibrant social justice ministry in Greater Dayton by

Distinguished theologian accepts invitation to speak in Dayton

jamieSr. Jamie Phelps, the Director of the Institute for Black Catholic Studies at Xavier University in New Orleans, Louisiana, will be featured in the Distinguished Speaker Series in Dayton Nov. 10, 2009.

An Adrian Dominican, Sr. Jamie Phelps is the Katharine Drexel Professor of Systematic Theology. Prior to this position she has been a member of the faculty of the Catholic Theological Union and Loyola University, both in Chicago, and a Distinguished Visiting Professor of Theology in the Religious Studies Department at the University of Dayton. She will speak at a location yet to be determined in Dayton. The event supports the Mission Office of Catholic Social Services of Miami Valley. Catholic Social Services partners with Weavers of Justice and the Archdiocesan Catholic Social Action Office in Dayton.
